FMM Concours and Time Trial
When: Dates to be confirmed (Thursday, 27 September 2012 to Friday, 28 September 2012)
Where: Franschhoek
Categories: Annual Festivals / Exhibitions & Conferences / Outdoor Events
The Time Trial:
Testing the capabilities of the finest vintage cars, the FMM Time Trial will see 50 classic cars put through their paces as they travel around a specially-designed circuit. The Time Trial will include 3 groups: A) speeds of 50km/h, B) speeds of 70km/h, and C) speeds of 90km/h – to accommodate the various pedigrees and speeds of these phenomenal machines. Each of the cars will make at least 4 runs around the custom course that can be viewed from designated areas on the farm.
The Concours
The Concours segment pays homage to 17th century French aristocracy, who paraded horse-drawn carriages through the parks of Paris. In the FMM Concours, the continent’s most exceptional vehicles will gather for critical review by a panel of motoring judges, as they are finely examined – from their upholstery and paint to the mechanical restoration under their vintage hoods.
