Wheels & Runners Hermanus 2009 in Hermanus

Take part in the only fully integrated wheelchairs and runners race in South Africa. The race, with the most beautiful views of sea and mountain runs through the center of Hermanus. Participants include people with disabilities in wheelchairs and able-bodied athletes (runners).

There are a total of ten categories to accommodate the abilities of every person. The Start and Finish line of the race will be at the Main road parking area opposite the taxi rank. Parking for athletes and busses will be provided at the pre-registration site (Overstrand Municipality) in Harmony lane, on the opposite side of Main road across from the starting line. Traffic officers will be on standby in Main road. Entering Hermanus from Cape Town in Main road, turn left in Harmony lane, the first road after the Police station. Parking is also available near the Information Bureau in Mitchell street.

The circle route will run along the sea in Marine drive and Westcliff drive and then pass through the central business area via Main road. All the roads are more or less level with only a few very slight uphill sections in the longer distance routes. Water points will be supplied as well as First aid services and Repair services. A medical doctor and ambulance will be on standby.
