Wellington Gravel Travel MTB Festival in Wellington

Wellington cordially invites you to come and experience a challenging route that is open to the public for the first time.

Explore farm roads and jeep tracks heading away from Diemersfontein, through the vineyards and farms of Wellington. Crossing Bainskloof pass and heading towards Groenberg Mountain. Jam-packed with beautiful views, fynbos, historic farmsteads and vineyard settings, passing many of the local award winning cellars.

This is a well-balanced route for the experienced and less experienced riders, for those racing, expect an exhilaratingly fast race. The 5km route is something for the juniors to keep them entertained.

The start and finish of the ride will take place at Diemersfontein Wine and Country Estate, just outside Wellington. The Wellington Gravel Travel will provide fun and entertainment for the whole family with a kiddies play park, food and produce from our fertile valley including our award winning wines that will be for sale.

Wellington is situated a mere 45 minutes drive from Cape Town and within a 30 minute radius from other Boland towns. Wellington is nestled at the foot of the Groenberg Mountain, in a picturesque valley on the banks of the Kromme River with the majestic Hawequa Mountains as silent sentinels on the eastern border. At the foot of the mountains are the beautiful manicured vineyards and finely restored Cape Dutch homesteads, some declared national monuments.
