Winning Recipe for a Piping Hot Musical Feast in Mtunzini
Take a few legendary artists, add some established names, mix thoroughly with some popular up and coming groups, and then sprinkle with some fresh new talent. To finish, garnish with a dollop of Zululand ambience. This is the winning recipe that lucky music-lovers attending the three-day Zini Music Festival from 10 to 12 August 2012 will be getting a taste of.
Following in the footsteps of last year's inaugural event this year's festival aims to be bigger, better and more exciting! With a fabulous line-up, there's no doubt festival-goers will be determined not to leave until the final note has rung out.
From reggae to rock, folk to blues, alternative to pop, Celtic and acoustic, electric guitars and tribal drums, Zini Fest has truly got it all! There's plenty time to knock off work early on Friday and be there for the first band at 18h00. Saturday's programme kicks off at 11h00 with non-stop hourly performances until midnight.
For those who aren't quite ready to go home yet and want to wind down and enjoy the Zululand scenery, there will be a surfing competition on the Mtunzini Beach on Sunday.
Along with the great musical line-up, there will also be plenty of great entertainment for kids with a slide, jumping castle, puppet show, games, crafts, face painting, jugglers and even stilt walkers ready to keep the young ones smiling all day!
Zini Festival-goers can also take a stroll through the craft market, enjoy free tea and coffee with the Mtunzini Christian Fellowship and sample from the many delicious food stalls.
As with last year's festival, the spirit of caring and community will once again be embraced with the Zini Music Festival acting as a collection point for various charity organizations.
Last year an amazing amount of clothes, shoes, food and general household goods were collected for Woza Moya, a poverty and aids alleviation project based in Ixopo on the South Coast. These were received with many smiles and tears of joy.
