Starting in the South Coast town of Amanzimtoti, this is a moderate, well balanced out and back course with the first kilometer presenting a challenging steep climb followed by a gentle downhill to the 4km mark. From this point its undulating to the turn back mark.

The race is run along part of the route taken by Dick King on his historic and legendary journey from Durban to Grahamstown.
