The Housewives Market Bluff Vets Half Marathon
When: Sunday, 18 November 2012
Where: Bluff
Categories: Marathons & Half Marathons / Sporting Events
This is a circular, moderate, scenic and undulating course that takes in the Bluff from the sea to the oil refinery. The race follows Lighthouse Road from Smith Drive into Marine Drive and onto Anstey’s Beach.
From here you climb up to the refinery and along Bedullah Drive before turning right into Tara Road where the course flattens out for six kilometres to the Pick n Pay.
Being Durban the weather is normally warm so make sure you keep hydratated. In the last quarter of the race is a long uphill to the water tower and finally you are able to dash down Bluff Road to the finish.
The winning man and woman receive a gold medal and silvers are awarded to the second man and woman home. All other finishers receive bronze medals. This is a well established race that has been going for well over 30 years. Please note however that the event is only open to veterans, men and women over the age of 40 and older runner only. There is a 15km run that is open to all age groups. Entries are taken at the start from 04h00.
