Randpark Ridge, Randburg

Lovely Randpark Ridge - neighbour to Boskruin, Honeydew and Weltevredenpark - is a pretty, large suburb in the leafy northern region of Johannesburg. Its various extensions straddle Beyers Naudé Drive between the Kelland Interchange with the N1 and the connection with Northumberland Avenue, all of them with grassy verges, pretty homes and a myriad trees.

Pretty Duiker Avenue backs on to the green belt that acts as the ridge from which this area gets its name, but there is little left of the open green space that once dominated the northern swathes of the city of gold. Most houses are single storey suburban homes. But those that do go up take full advantage of the ridge, with views out over the northern suburbs and the canopy of trees.

The advantages of staying here are many, particularly if your business is in the Randburg CBD or Sandton, both of which are roughly 12 kilometres from Randpark Ridge. The Coca-Cola Dome is just up the road, whilst great tourist destinations like the Sterkfontein Caves, Soweto or the Lesedi Tribal Village are roughly 25 kilometres away.

Your access to Witkoppen Road means Fourways and Bryanston are close to hand, whilst Malibongwe Drive heads all the way out to Hartebeespoort Dam and the Magaliesberg Mountains - the advantage of staying out north for weekends! Nearby shopping malls such as Northgate, Cresta, Fourways and more, mean that access to restaurants and entertainment abound. But if you prefer, the villages of Greenside and Parktown are close enough to give you evenings out on the town on a different note.
