Winterton Country Lodge was a refuge on a stormy wet night after a daylong drive from Kruger National Park. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is varied and hearty and the staff is warm, accessible and very helpful. It is close to the Drakensberg attractions. Our three night stay was great! You can’t go wrong.

Our first stay at Apple Cottage and the staff made us very welcome. We were even offered an opportunity to have our evening meal there on arrival and it was superb. Sophewe looked after our every need during our three day stay. Very comfortable bed and beautiful gardens with lots of trees. A perfect spot to stay when exploring the northern Drakensberg area. Highly recommend!

Absolutely lovely! Really clean. Super peaceful even though you are quite close to a main road. We only stayed one night and had a lovely breakfast before heading back from Champagne valley back to Joburg.
