Excellent stay with stunning scenery. Rooms were huge and the facilities were amazing. Bathroom has wall of glass looking out over the hills.

We had an amazing time at the lodge. The service was excellent. The guided game drives were lovely, with a highly knowledgeable and capable guide. Highly recommended.

Good Morning Geri Frank & Annette We had really enjoyable stays at Glen Abbey,as usual,and a truly memorable stay at White Lion Lodge. The whole concept,design and attention to detail is exceptional,5 star comfort, and friendly atmosphere,in totally natural unspoiled surroundings. The game viewing drives,were excellent,with plenty of animals,the highlights being the white rhinos, white lions and being totally surrounded by 12 elephants, some almost at touching distance. Special words of thanks to Annette for the tremendous job she did with the cooking,to Frank,alias Michael Schum..in his dual role of mine host/apprentice game ranger,to Andrew for his very informative all day game drive and last but not least Daryl who does a great job Hope to see you again in the not too distant future Best Regards John & Marie

White Lion Lodge is a fabulous place to stay and was the absolute highlight of our 3-week trip to South Africa. Everybody present on our two days agreed that White Lion Lodge is the most impressive looking accommodation in the whole of Sanbona by a large margin. Our individual lodge was extremely luxurious with massive bed, top quality sheets, great views, superbly appointed bathroom/toilet etc. The fire was a pleasant addition in the cool September evenings. The attention to detail is second to none. The food was beautifully cooked and presented in a large convivial dining room. We did eat lunch on the terrace, which was lovely but evenings in September were too cool to dine outside. The wine accompanying meals was very pleasant and free flowing. The staff members were enthusiastic and professional at all times and were inspired by the leadership of Gerry who is absolutely committed to ensuring that guests have a fulfilling, interesting and enjoyable stay. She is very knowledgeable and provided many insights into the environment of the Sanbona reserve. The game drives were amazing. Our two ‘morning' drives turned out to be almost ‘whole day' events as Gerry took us to the far extremes of the reserve to find as much game as possible. She even managed to lay on a view of the White Lions which had not previously been seen for several days. Andrew's contribution to the drives was a real bonus providing additional insights into the use of plants by local peoples. We fully recommend White Lion Lodge. Even for people not particularly interested in game a stay here to experience the facilities, the location and the food would fully justify the cost but then it would be a shame to miss out on the wonderful environment of the Sanbona reserve.

A first class outstanding Lodge. Gerry and her staff are professionals. Kevin, the ranger, was excellent. We had a thoroughly delightful tmie and saw all of the animals that we wanted to see. Upon my arrival, Gerry and her staff exceeded all of my expectations with their service, hospitality, and gratitude. The White Lion Lodge is a remarkable place of beauty, tranquility, and romanticism. I loved every minute of my stay from the food, to the accommodation, and of course the safari itself. I would recommend the White Lion Lodge to anyone looking for 5 star treatment for a 2 star cost. I will definitely be back!

Hallo Gerhild und Frank, nachdem nun schon einige Monate ins Land gezogen sind, daß wir unseren Traumurlaub bei Euch verbracht haben, möchten wir uns nochmals ganz herzlich für die liebe Aufnahme in Glen Abbey und in Sanbona in der White Lion Lodge bedanken. Wir zehren immer noch von diesen Erlebnissen. Die Wohnung in Glen Abbey ist excellent und erste Sahne. Die Einrichtung ließ keine Wünsche offen. Euer Personal war freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer guter Laune. Zu Sanbona können wir ebenfalls nur die beste Note vergeben. Auf der Safari haben wir Elefanten, Löwen, Springböcke, Zebras, Hippos, Nashörner, Giraffen u.v.a. gesehen. Diese Erinnerung bleibt und wir freuen uns, bald wieder unseren Urlaub bei Euch zu buchen.
