Bordering the Timbavati Game Reserve and Kruger National Park, this reserve is hot and dry for most of the year. The bush is sparse but soon recovers, if and when summer rains arrive. Game wanders freely over vast areas and you are likely to see all the usual animals of the African bush like lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and many antelopes. From Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS):
1. Leave the airport and turn right onto the R40 towards Klaserie/Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.
2. Continue on the R40 for approximately 18 kilometres.
3. You'll then turn left onto the dirt road that leads to the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.
4. From here, it's about another 13 kilometres to the Klaserie entrance gate.
Tintswalo Scops Rest will provide specific directions for the final stretch to the lodge itself, as the roads inside the reserve can be a bit tricky to navigate without guidance.
