About The Storytellers

The Storytellers Organic Farm and Glamping Accommodation is situated in the world famous Rocklands region of the northernmost Cederberg Mountains.

The three luxury safari tents are nestled up against this unique bush setting, backed by red sandstone cliffs and dotted with an infinite number of stand-alone boulders and rock formations.

Cederberg Self Catering

The tents Dassie Den, Porcupine Place and Tortoise Terrace are all equipped with a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and an en-suite kitchen with a gas fridge, a gas cooker and washing up facilities.

Porcupine Place and Dassie Den both have wood-fired donkeys as a source of hot water, while the water at Tortoise Terrace is heated by an automatic gas geyser.

Porcupine Place has a rain shower and a natural rock wall as well as a discreet roof canopy. Dassie Den is situated on a concrete block with comfy lounge chairs and lovely views. Tortoise Terrace is the smallest of the three tents and has its kitchen in an adjacent Wendy house. There is a terraced deck with a picnic bench.

In the bathrooms, Porcupine Place and Tortoise Terrace have a shower, a toilet and a washbasin, while Dassie Den has all of these as well as a classic old “steel tub” clawed bath. The tents are undercover.

Things to Do

The Storytellers is based on a small piece of privately owned land at the back of De Pakhuys Guest Farm, world-renowned for its bouldering (a type of climbing) and annual “Climbing Season” – when hundreds of international climbers flock to the farm to climb during the cold, wet winter months.

De Pakhuys offers more than 500 bouldering problems, as well as several excellent sport and trad climbing routes. The larger farm also has several hiking trails and a swimming dam; and all of these facilities and activities are available to The Storytellers guests.

Verified reviewvery good

We needed a peaceful environment where we could chill as close as possible to nature ..and we got it ! The facilities were perfect..even in a very blustery rain /storm . The dogs were an added bonus..they accompanied two old dears on their daily mountain walks. A real pleasure .

A magical place with the most outstanding host and hostess. Highly recommend. Camping in the most beautiful setting without the hassle of setting up ones own tent. Thank you Tracy and JP. Hope to be back.
