The Mountain Gem has two bedrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a Queen-size bed and the second bedroom is furnished with three twin beds. These rooms share a bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge that is comfortably furnished and has a smart TV with Netflix. Wi-Fi is available. A lovely wrap-around balcony completes the setup with a private built-in braai with pull down blinds to keep the weather out, an informal dining area. The property has a swimming pool and Jacuzzi which is located in the shared area on the ground floor, where the owners live. They are a family that loves being outdoors and entertaining, and guests are more than welcome to join them. The Jacuzzi is semi-private and guests need to let the owners know when they want to use it so that it can be switched on in advance. Please be advised that the owners do not use the hot tub when guests are there/requested to use it.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
