The Little Unknown has two bedrooms with Queen-size beds. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, an oven and stove and a microwave and the open-plan living area has a fireplace, a TV and a dining table and chairs. There is a DVD player but no satellite channels. The patio is equipped with an outdoor dining table and chairs, ideal for alfresco dining with beautiful views. Braai facilities are available and the cottage is equipped with free Wi-Fi. Guests also have access to secure parking. Half day housekeeping service is available at an additional cost. Children are welcome but guests should please note that there is an unfenced dam which may not be safe for toddlers and children younger than 8 years old.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
