Most spectacular view of the berg, so peaceful, clean neat accommodations and wonderful walks from the camp. I will be returning

Beautiful setting, amazing hikes. The view is absolutely breathtaking, there is no tv and bad reception which I think is why you would go to a place like this. It was pure bliss and I would recommend this to all. I'll go back any day:)

Sungubala is an amazing camp located completely off the grid deep in the mountains. It is an absolute great experience staying there and you couldn't be further away from the busy city life. The view from the terrace of the mountains in the morning is absolutely breathtaking and does not get old. If you're lucky to get a starry night you will be amazed by the magic in the sky. We stayed in the 5-sleeper chalet which was perfect for two couples, friends or a family. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is very clean and even gets cleaned every day. Even though the camp is only powered by solar and wind power, there are even plugs to charge your devices, so you're not missing anything. Instead of a TV the lounges are equipped with a variety of board games which is a nice touch. It is definitely not what you would expect of an "eco-camp" and offers all the luxury you need. There are plenty of hiking trails all around the camp (they also offer free guided hikes every morning) and the beautiful royal natal national park is just a 20 minute drive. You will definitely find yourself not wanting to ever leave this place.

Sungubala is a super-quiet, peaceful retreat with breath-taking views to the Berg and into the valley below. The chalets are neat and well-equipped. A friendly guide took us on a leisurely hike. The camp attendant was always nearby and available. Our host, Rhona Carte, went out of her way to help us.
