Die Brak House

Herein lies the true Karoo experience! Die Brak is our unique Karoo cottage hidden on the outskirts of the farm (8km from our main lodge) and can only be accessed with a high clearance vehicle. It is the romantic Karoo experience with dinner by candle light and long conversations next to a roaring fireplace since there is no electricity or internet access here. It is the perfect hide away from modern life and ideal for anyone seeking a little peace and quiet. The house has 3 bedrooms (1 double, two singles), 1 bathroom (bath tub, basin and toilet), a kitchen (Dover oven, gas stove top, gas fridge and pantry), living area with indoor fireplace and a small dining area. There is also a braai-lapa just outside the back door. The cottage is next to the Doorn River so you will be sure to see a lot of animal life. A lovely little picnic spot beneath the trees is also located close to the house. Die Brak is pet-friendly, so bring your furry friend along for the weekend!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

Can I pay the deposit at month end?

That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
