The little town of Patensie lies virtually at the mouth of the Baviaanskloof Wilderness area, hidden away in the south western corner of the Eastern Cape only an hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth - it’s the last stop before entering the wilderness. A largely citrus producing community, the name Patensie is something of a corruption of the Hottentot expression ‘lêplek van die beeste’ or ‘where the ... cont.

• From PE drive on the N2 westbound (towards Humansdorp/Cape Town)
• Take the R331 exit (Hankey sign posted)
• Drive 30 km until you reach the town of Hankey
• Drive through Hankey on the R331 for another 14km which will lead you into Patensie
• The Ripple Hill Hotel is located in Paul Ferreira Street and is well sign posted within Patensie
From Humansdorp / Jeffreys Bay / Cape Town
• From Humansdorp take the R330 (which exits from the N2) and head towards Hankey
• Entering Hankey, you will reach a 4-way stop, turn left
• Drive through Hankey on the R331 for another 14km which will lead you into Patensie
• The Ripple Hill Hotel is located in Paul Ferreira Street and is well sign posted within Patensie
