Sunbird Cottage is a gorgeous cottage situated on an organic cattle farm just outside the historic town of Graaff Reinet and offers self catering accommodation for those looking for a tranquil getaway. While on the farm guests can enjoy the large garden area, magnificent scenery and activities such as walking, bird watching, mountain biking and photography. This beautifully decorated and furnished cottage sleeps two guests in one bedroom furnished with a double bed. There is a bathroom with a shower. There is an open-plan living area and a fully equipped kitchen. The cottage has air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, a fireplace, a firepit and terrace. Note: Having your own vehicle is essential. The road is regularly graded, but corrugations persist. A 4x4 is not completely a necessity but we strongly recommend that or a high clearance vehicle, just for your own convenience. Please note that while many saloon/low slung vehicles visit, this is at your own risk, most especially if it rains when the road can become very boggy. Please remember that this is an African farm. Snakes, insects, weather, challenging terrain all pose their own threats and you are responsible for your own safety.

      Why do I have to pay a deposit?

      This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

      Can I pay the deposit at month end?

      That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online.
