Situated on 36,000 acres of African bushveld bordering the scenic banks of the Nbesi River, Moditlo Private Game Reserve offers a range of luxurious wildlife encounters and African safari options specially tailored for the discerning traveller.

Moditlo River Lodge sits at the heart of the Blue Canyon Conservancy, a stretch of protected land in close proximity to the world-renowned Greater Kruger National Park and is home to an astonishing array of fauna and flora.

Named for the gentle beast of the bushveld, Moditlo means 'place of the elephant', and the quiet grace of this extraordinary creature echoes throughout the lodge and its surroundings.

Accommodation

Modlito Private Game Reserve lodge was designed to combine the rustic nature of a bushveld retreat with the style and elegance you'd expect of a first-rate safari destination. Here you will find a crystal-clear swimming pool, restaurant, curio shop, communal lounges and bar. Stroll from your room down the meandering wooden walkways to enjoy a relaxing drink beside the pool as the heat of the day settles on the bushveld soil and take a moment to drink in the stark beauty of the African continent.

Relax in understated elegance, in a cool, calm oasis of crisp, white Percale linen, gentle air-conditioning and utter privacy. Our spacious rooms are the perfect retreat for a refreshing afternoon nap, undisturbed evening slumber and the private decks are an ideal setting for an invigorating morning coffee or peaceful nightcap.

Should you require it, you also have the option of having a ranger to escort you to your room in the evening. All the rooms have a bath tub and separate shower with a bush view. The stylishly decorated rooms offer air-conditioning, complimentary coffee station, personal safety box, guest amenities, mini bar and own patio.

To go on safari is one of the greatest adventures one can experience outdoors and our excellent team of nature guides and trackers will help you encounter the magic of our surrounds. Our guides have been hand-picked for their vast knowledge of the area and its animals and will be more than happy to clarify, inform and discuss any topic at length. We also offer hot air balloon safaris and trips to the Moholoholo Animal Rehabilitation Centre at additional cost.
