That Phalaborwa never gets cold is something of a euphemism to describe the intense heat that can grip the modern, copper mining town, situated just 3 kilometres from the Kruger National Park, during summer in particular. 5. Turn right onto Hendrik Van Eck St/Phalaborwa-Giyani/R71, 2.2 km.

8. Turn right onto Potgieter St, 350 m.
9. Turn right, 7.2 km.
10. Turn left onto R40, 11.6 km.
11. Drive to your destination, 2.2 km.
12. Turn left, 200 m.
13. Keep right, 2.0 km.
The destination will be on the left: Grietjie Private Nature Reserve.
