The war-like connotations of the name 'Trafalgar' for one of the little towns along the south coast of KwaZulu Natal is rather obscure to say the least. Trafalgar lies just south of San Lameer, north of Palm Beach and closest to the Port Edward side of the popular strip of coast, 150 kilometres south of Durban. Its name descends directly from the missionary relatives of Viscount Horatio ... cont.
From Margate Airport:
1. To start, get onto the R61 from Izotsha Road. This first leg is about 6.5 km.
2. Next, you'll drive for about 96 metres toward Tedder Avenue, then continue on Tedder Avenue for another 750 metres.
3. Turn left onto Shepstone Avenue and drive for 300 metres.
4. Shepstone Avenue will curve to the right and become Bobby Locke Avenue; stay on this road for 650 metres.
5. Turn left onto Links Road, 500 metres, then another left onto Izotsha Road, 2.7 km.
6. Take a left onto Alford Avenue, 800 metres.
7. After that, take a right to merge onto the R61 toward Port Edward.
8. You'll drive 750 metres to merge, then continue on the R61 for a total of 10.8 km.
9. Stay on the R61 for another 2.2 km.
10. From here, you'll make a series of turns: a right after 280 metres, then keep right for 750 metres, a left after 130 metres, and finally a right after 1.1 km.
11. Turn left back onto the R61.
12. After you pass Bucks Farm Stall, you'll see a road sign for the D203 on your right at the top of the next hill.
13. Turn right onto that dirt road and drive for about 400 metres until you spot our farm's entrance pillars.
14. Drive very slowly on the farm road, following it all the way to the electric gate.
