About Khamkirri Camping

Khamkirri Camping offers accommodation in Kakamas along the banks of the Orange River. The camp is a family orientated destination where children, friends and family feel at home.

Accommodation

Khamkirri Camping has fourteen campsites and eight private campsites. Our campsites are spacious with lush grass and large indigenous Camelthorn trees, access to power points and normal and blue plug power points (not all the stands have power points, but if you bring a long lead with, it will reach a power point). We don't book stands we work on a first come basis most guests like to find a nice spot that they are happy with.

Onsite Facilities

We sell wood and ice, fire lighters and matches. There is a pool, deck, table tennis, volley ball court and bar as well as a restaurant for guests to enjoy.

The Area

Sight a fish eagle and a variety of water birds as well as otters in front of camp. Augrabies Falls National Park is only 60km away one can enjoy a day out with picnic basket in hand, take a leisurely game drive and view the beautiful scenery where you can spot the elusive black eagles soaring over the cliff edges. A trip to Riemvasmaak is a must. One can only describe this as a trip to Mars - intense red rocks, natural hot springs and lunar landscape will be etched in your memory for ever. All this and so much more is accessible while enjoying your stay with us.

Daily walks, bird watching, and mountain biking are great recreational activities to do if you don't fancy joining in on one of our more energetic adventures. River Rafting, nature paddling, fishing, mountain biking, hiking sun rise game drives. Barge river cruises, rafting and more.

Our campsites are spacious with lush grass and large indigenous Camelthorn trees, access to power points and normal and blue plug power points (Not all the stands have power points, but if you bring a long lead with it will reach a power point). The sites can accommodate up to six guests and one vehicle. We don’t book stands we work on a first come basis most guests like to find a nice spot that they are happy with. The camp ablutions are centrally situated making it accessible for all groups or families using the campground. The men’s and ladies bathrooms are split into two sections, both of the mens have hot water showers, flushing toilets and basins, while the ladies have both hot water showers and baths, ideal for families with younger kids. There is also a washing line. All campers can use the main wash up area attached to the Ablutions which has hot water. Fresh water is used for all our sanitary requirements as well as septic tanks.
