Kestrel is part of a Yurt camp that has been split into two neighbouring sites that are screen from one another offering visual privacy. Kestrel sleeps two guests in a Camping Yurt that is furnished with a double mattress, linen, towels and lights. Adjacent to the Yurt are two separate structures for your private use - one is a large bathroom with a hot shower, and the other is a comfortable kitchen and lounge space. The kitchen area has a daybed which can be made up with linen to accommodate an additional two guests, and extra camping for up to four campers can be arranged. The Yurt Camp is equipped with solar power and charging facilities, gas stove tops for cooking, fridges, crockery, cutlery, utensils, braai facilities, firewood, firelighters, soaps, shampoos, salt, pepper, and the farm's home-grown organic olive oil. You need only bring your food and drinks. Kestrel Yurt Camp is next to Malachite Yurt Camp and can be booked together for larger groups.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
