Just 80 minutes’ drive north of Cape Town, at the northern edge of one of the most beautiful fertile valleys in the country, lies the historical town of Tulbagh. The village nestles in amongst the Winterhoek, Witzenberg and Obiqua Mountains, which surround it on three sides and provide one of the most beautiful settings in the Western Cape. Proteas and herbs grow wild here and peaches, pears ... cont.
• Take the N1 leaving Cape Town
• Take the R44 Wellington / Stellenbosch off-ramp
• Turn left at stop street towards Wellington
• After 22km turn left at robots onto Distellery road
• Continue for approximately 40km until you go over the Nuwekloof pass and arrive in the Tulbagh valley
• Approximately 9km after the pass the turn right at the red Guinevere Guest Farm sign. (This road is quite sneaky, it is the road to your right as the road starts to dip and is lined with gum and wattle trees)
• Proceed along this road and when the road splits take the left fork which goes over a small river crossing, proceed until you go over the second river crossing and see the house up on the hill to the right. Please drive slowly and watch out for tortoises on the road.
