Explore the Mountainlands area on a quad bike. Bring your own, or hire one of ours. 4x4 - wonderful routes into ghost towns, past lakes and abandoned gold mines harking back to early times. MTB - some wonderful routes in a reserve - but be warned, this is mountainous terrain.

Barberton is regarded as something of a relic of the gold fever that gripped the Lowveld in the 1880s. Many of the old buildings still stand and gold is mined from the oldest and richest gold and silver deposits in the world. One of Barberton's most elegant old buildings, Belhaven is now a museum furnished in the style of a wealthy Edwardian family home. Two other museums depicting the early days are Fernlea House and Stopforth House.

It was our first time at Geo Trail Lodge and Spa and we were thoroughly surprised and bewondered. It is an absolutely beautiful place with stunning views and super friendly staff. The chalets are super charming and comfortable and we would have loved to stay at least twice as long as we did. We look forward to returning in the future.
