Erica Chalet is a self catering holiday home in Stanford sleeping six or seven guests. The master bedroom is furnished with a double bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin and views up towards Phillipskop. The second and third bedrooms are each furnished with twin beds, though the beds can be pushed together. One has a view over the valley, while the other is on the mountain side. The twin bedrooms share a bathroom fitted with a bath, shower cubicle, toilet and basin. The kitchen has everything you might need, whether just for basic meals or more elaborate dining. There is a gas stove and oven, microwave, toaster and good sized fridge / freezer. The living area is open plan, has comfy seating and a log burning fireplace to keep you cosy in winter. The dining table can easily seat eight people around it. Upstairs in the loft area there is games equipment and desk space. On the valley side of the cottage is a wooden deck, with wonderful views towards the Akkedisberg and across the Overberg in the direction of Gansbaai. On the mountain side, we have provided a dedicated braai area looking up towards Phillipskop and a small garden.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
