The River Lodge, including two nearby tents, offers off-the-grid accommodation for up to 10 guests. The main lodge features three double bedrooms that share a bathroom, along with an open-plan lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cosy fireplace. A bar and entertainment area flow onto a spacious patio overlooking the river and garden, perfect for relaxed gatherings.

Located approximately 100 metres from the main lodge, the two tents offer a rustic yet comfortable extension to the accommodation. Guests have access to free Wi-Fi, and the lodge is fitted with a dining area, safe, and heating options for cooler evenings.

The kitchen includes an oven, toaster, bar fridge, refrigerator, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, ensuring a well-rounded self-catering experience. Outdoors, guests can enjoy the furnished patio, an alfresco dining area, and braai facilities, all set against a tranquil backdrop of garden and river views. This is a non-smoking property.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
