Caelis Place holiday home features four bedrooms. One bedroom is perfect for children and furnished with a three tier bunk bed and two single beds. Bedroom Two has two single beds (can be pushed together if need be). These two bedrooms share two bathrooms - one has a shower and the other a bath. There are two outer bedrooms; they are mirror images of each other with a Queen-size bed and a small en-suite bathroom with a shower. Bedding and towels are provided. The kitchen is equipped with a four burner gas stove and small oven, a high pressure gas burner and two burner gas cooker. There is also a fridge / freezer and spacious working counters. A fireplace keeps the room warm in winter and can also be used to braai. The living room has a wood burning fireplace, a 10 seater table and two large couches. Books and games are provided. There is no TV. The house, apart from cooking and water heating, is powered by solar power. There is always toilet paper there but we do encourage people to bring and leave what they don't use, including wood and charcoal. All garbage is to be carried off site when one leaves including bottles and cans for recycling.

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
