The Honeymoon Cow Shed

Self‐catering open plan unit for a honeymoon couple or for a family of 5. Large open plan stone building where our cows used to sleep at night. Luxurious round bath surrounded by candles whilst enjoying peace and tranquillity only a Karoo farm can offer.

The Milk Stable

Budget accommodation for a family of 4. This unit is not self‐catering and is the only unit without a kitchen. Could be used if you visit with friends who stay in a unit with a kitchen. Stone building where our cows used to be milked in the morning. Bath room with shower. A kaggel to keep you warm and cosy.

The Calves Stable

Self‐catering for a couple and a child. This used to be the stable where the calves were kept at night away from their mothers (next door) to prevent them from drinking all the milk. During the day they were left out with their mothers to drink as much milk as they wished.

The Hay Stable

Self‐catering unit for a family of 4. This used to be where the hammer mill minced the hay and lucerne for the cattle to eat. One bedroom with a double and a single bed. Living room includes a single bed. Bathroom with shower. Fully equipped kitchen with a fire place. Lovely view from the kitchen and patio.

Second Honeymoon Suite

Open plan self‐catering unit for a couple with one child. This unit was not one of the original stables but is a newly built stone building to complement the surrounding stonework in the kraal. Double bed and open plan bathroom with a big oval bath. Fully equipped kitchen. Very spacious unit situated high in the wall of the stone kraal with a lovely view.

The Farmhouse Annex

Self‐catering unit for a couple and one child. Next to the old farm house. One double bed and one single bed. En‐suite bathroom with shower. Fully equipped kitchen with inside braai / kaggel.

Spacious Round hut with own kitchen and bath room (with shower). Double bed and double bunkbed. Fire place.

Extremely spacious Self‐catering unit for a couple and three children. This unit used to be the communal dining room and communal kitchen. Open plan bedroom and lounge with separate large kitchen with large inside fireplace. Separate bathroom with shower. Patio overlooking farmyard.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Why do I have to pay a deposit?

    This is a sign of good faith. Properties hold rooms for you, which they could sell to someone else, so if you don't turn up, they lose revenue. By paying a deposit of 50% (industry standard) you show the property that you are intending to arrive and they will accordingly turn others away.

    Can I pay the deposit at month end?

    That depends on the property. Many have real time booking calendars, allowing people to book instantly online. If that's the case, bookings are first-come-first-book, and no rooms will be held provisionally unless specifically arranged. Send a request and ask for a specific payment date and they'll get back to you.

    What is 3D Secure?

    This is a security layer which checks that the person making the payment is the authorised cardholder by way of a one-time pin delivered by SMS or a secret code, ensuring the safety of your card.

    3D secure is a legislated prerequisite for all online purchases in South Africa.
