About Black Leopard Mountain Lodge
Situated in the Thaba Tholo Mountain Wilderness Reserve just off the scenic Panorama Route in Mpumalanga is Black Leopard Camp. Set in a malaria free area, the camp was designed to capture ‘bush luxury' while still remaining close to nature.
Black Leopard Camp is surrounded by archeological ruins, beautiful scenery and rivers as well as a host of Flora including the beautiful Protea, South Africa's national flower.
Accommodation
There are three very different accommodation types to choose from all of which are located here in the heart of the Thabo Tholo Wilderness Reserve. Depending on your wanted safari experience, each has something unique to offer from a touch of luxury at Black Leopard, exclusivity at Black Eagle View to a rustic retreat in the wild at Buffalo Thorn Camp.
At Black Leopard Mountain Lodge relax by the poolside and look up to the mountain views above from your secluded balcony when you're not on safari or out on foot exploring this diverse reserve. Winding wooden pathways lead the way to the main lodge where the dining area, indoor lounge, lodge bar, viewing deck, boma area and fire pit are located.
Here at Black Eagle View you have exclusive use of this 4-bedroom canvas house, equipped with self-catering kitchen, comfortable lounge and an outdoor seating area circling a large raised fire pit. The house boasts scenic views of this wild and mountainous landscape, enjoy this private house with family, friends and is even the pets!
At Buffalo Thorn Camp explore the wild and camp in style here in the heart of the reserve. The camp has everything you need for a camping retreat in nature. The camp has 6 dome tents each sleeping 2 people and 1 large tent sleeping 6 people when needed. The camp has an open-air kitchen, dining area, boma area and fire pit, perfect for those campfire nights in the wild.

Enjoy our famous 'Fireside Fare' or choose the self catering option in our cosy dining area as well as a couple of drinks in our bar with excellent views over the valley.
