About Lazy Lizard Brewhouse

The Lazy Lizard Brewhouse is one of the North West’s brewery treasures, located in Broederstroom, which is right on the border of the Gauteng Province. This is an independent brewery that pairs its top-notch craft beers with some delicious food. But, this is about more than a taste sensation. Lazy Lizard is about celebrating the fun and beauty of a life well lived, amidst the gorgeous terrains of South Africa.

There is live music on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) to create a fabulously festive vibe at the Lazy Lizard. It’s also a great spot for families, as children will love the jumping castle, sandpit and jungle gyms.

Still, the beer is certainly the highlight of this little gem.

They include

The Blonde Ale
This is a light- to medium-bodied brew that is refreshing and easy to drink.

The Irish Red Ale
Undertones of malt, caramel and roasted grain finish off with a sweet kick and a dry finish.

The English Ale
This copper-coloured beer has a malty nose and an unmistakable caramel flavour. It makes for easy drinking.

The American Pale Ale
Beer-lovers that are after a strong body will enjoy this beer, which also has medium-hop bitterness and a hint of citrus.

The Dark Ale
This rich dark beer has nutty flavours and medium-hop bitterness, but leaves a clean, crisp aftertaste.

The Weiss
Lots of malted wheat and local hops combine to create this characteristic weiss. It has a unique taste that is sometimes complex, but always refreshing.

Taster trays allow visitors to sample several or all of the beers available to compare their flavours, aromas and colours, and to decide on their favourites. Tours of the brewery are a must for those who want to learn about their beer from the freshly-picked grain to the ice-cold golden refreshment in their glass.

The Lazy Lizard Brewhouse is open from Monday to Sunday and is close to both Johannesburg and Pretoria.
