About OC Brewery
What started as a hobby with a small home kit has evolved into a business that is fuelled by a passion for great beer and a commitment to family values. Gavin and Trudy are the names behind the success that has become OC Brewery, and they continue to use fabulous ingredients and experiment with brand-new flavours so that their beers are always innovative and special.
The OC Brewery is based in Randburg, just north-west of Johannesburg, and is a must for visitors to Gauteng that want to sample some refreshing ales.
They currently have two signature brews. These are
The Headless Hunter Amber Ale (ABV 5.2%)
This is a well-balanced craft beer with a moderately hoppy taste and an irresistible caramel finish. Its lingering head and magnificent copper colour make this a must for those who want an easy-drinking brew on a hot South African summer’s day.
The Dictator IPA (ABV 5.6%)
This American IPA is all about the hops and is a hit for hopheads. There are prominent citrus, pine and floral flavours. It is a gorgeous golden copper colour and is reserved for those that have plenty of beer-drinking behind them or who favour a complex bitter beer.
There are more varieties being developed all the time, so keep an eye out for the OC Brewery tent at beer festivals and other similar events. The Buxom Barmaid, Bareknuckle Boxer, and Wan Princess are all waiting to be sampled too.
In the meantime, the couple behind the brand continue to work towards exposing people (whether they are already beer-lovers or not) to the wonderful variety of flavours and combinations of craft beer.
