Our visit to Sun City will only be remembered for the negatives unfortunately. We have visited many places all over the western world and have never paid so much money for so little. Definetely the smallest room (Cabannas) and the worst maintenance of any resort, hotel, motel, etc. we have experienced. The best part was it's approximity to Pilanesberg game reserve. So, if you only want to see animals book outside the resort. We do not recommend Sun City for relaxation. If you do go, prepare yourself for a huge bill and lots of walking.

Very disappointed. I go to the valley of the waves each year around February as a birthday celebration. There is now a per person entry fee at the parking area additional to the Valley of the Waves entry fee, which was never an entry fee before. The Nobles Descent is not in operation. The Boomerang which is a popular ride was also only working half of the day. When it finally came into operation there were not enough tubes to accommodate the riders and one had to stand in long ques to wait for a tube and the resort was not overly full. The mechanical see is also not in full operation. There is a huge structural crack in the wall between the lions' heads where water seeps through when the water builds up to make the waves. Only 3 out of the 7 lion heads takes water in to make the waves resulting in smaller and shorter bursts of waves. The moving bridge was also not in operation. We had quests with children with whom were really looking forward to hear the roaring lion and bridge which resulted in great disappointment. It is clear there is a huge lack of maintenance and I don't thing Sun City and the Valley of the Waves will see us soon again.
