Centrally located, in the picturesque, malaria free mountain village of Sabie, Villa Ticino is the ideal base to explore the Panorama Route with Blyde River Canyon, Escarpment, Lowveld, many stunning waterfalls, interesting projects and the famous Kruger National Park is only a 40 minute drive away. Regret, no self-catering, no children under 14 years, no smoking indoors and no pets. THE VILLAA walkway leads past lush mature greenery to the entrance area of Villa Ticino, which is reminiscent of a typical Ticino country village scene with fountain, statues, benches and murals. On arrival, guests are personally welcomed by their Swiss/German owners and hosts Felix & Ute. The well established, popular and spacious guest villa offers a split-level guest lounge with magazines and an open fire place, a cosy resident bar with information area, a generous veranda with mountain views, lush mature gardens and a secluded swimming pool for relaxation or a refreshing dip. At Villa Ticino, European style is fused with Mediterranean flair and African touches with contemporary chic décor to lend it its own personal invitingly relaxed yet elegant ambience. Enclosed parking, locked during night, is also provided. Our establishment is build on a slope and unfortunately not suitable for disabled people. For the comfort and wellbeing of all our valued guests we regret, no smoking indoors. GUEST ROOMSVilla Ticino offers five guest rooms with twin beds and one guest room with a queen size double bed all with their own welcoming charm and thoughtful touches. The light and streamlined en-suite guest rooms are designed with the requirements and comfort of all our guests in mind. Each has tea/coffee making facility, safe, television with standard channels, luggage rack, radio alarm, seating area, hairdryer, barfridge, heater, dressing table-cum-desk, ceiling fan and two prong plugs. All double rooms open up onto a covered private patio or a private balcony with garden view and are the perfect place to relax and unwind. All well-lit and user-friendly bathrooms, mainly with shower, are tiled to the ceiling and feature basin mixers, oversized mirrors and matching accessories. BREAKFASTOur popular breakfast, a combination of both cooked and Continental, consists of a daily changing speciality and a buffet with fresh fruit, fruit juice, cereals, yogurt, a variety of different breads, cheese, cold meat, jams, home bakes as well as choice of teas and our special Ticino blend of coffee. Breakfast is served from 7h30 to 9h00 in either our airy breakfast room with Ticino country flair or in warmer weather outside on our generous, covered 60 square metre terrace with garden and mountain vistas accompanied by chirping birds. For privacy table settings are individual in both areas. LOCATIONOur European style villa is situated in the centre of the quaint village of Sabie, settled comfortably in a deep valley on an altitude of 1100 m, surrounded by beautiful scenery of green forests, stunning waterfalls and towering mountains. Villa Ticino is directly opposite the village shopping centre where SIM-card, mosquito repellent, sun lotion and other useful articles can be obtained. We are only a short stroll away from the Internet Café, laundromat, banks with ATM machines, post-office, shops, pharmacy and 9-hole golf course. The Villa is also located within 80 metres safe walking distance to six restaurants. Guests have the choice between classy restaurants to lively pub-style bistros to spoil their tastes and palates. An invitingly friendly atmosphere is perceived in the village of Sabie to linger longer. ARRIVAL AND SIGHTSEEINGAfter four to five hours comfortable driving from Johannesburg Airport (360 km) via the scenic Long Tom Pass or one hours drive from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) you will reach Sabie. It is the ideal and central base for extended stays to explore the many popular attractions such as the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke's Luck Potholes, God's Window, Graskop, Shangana traditional village, Pilgrim's Rest, lots of waterfalls, Botanical Garden in Nelspruit, Sudwala Caves with a traditional village, Kaapsehoop with wild horses, Cheetah project, Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre, the Kruger National Park and other projects like the Silk farm, the coffee farm or the Elephant Sanctuary. We will gladly assist our longer staying guests with daily excursions and with comprehensive insider information about our fascinating, but mainly unknown area to discover one of the most beautiful regions in South Africa.
