Called the Two Oceans Aquarium because the vast Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet here, or almost here at the southern tip of the continent, the delightful underwater nature reserve is based at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, with over 3000 living sea animals, including sharks, fish, turtles, and penguins on display. The Two Oceans Aquarium offers a spectacular venue for your conference or very special day, your wedding.

Conference & Evening Presentation Venues

The Metropolitan Health Group & Qualsa ‘Think Tank’
Opening onto the V&A Waterfront Marina, the Auditorium has a magnificent view of Table Mountain. The Auditorium is professionally fitted with audio visual equipment and offers flexible seating arrangements. Delegates attending day conferences are also granted access into the rest of the Aquarium. Venue Capacity: UShaped: 10 - 50 delegates; School Room: 10 - 50 delegates; Cinema: 10 - 110 delegates.

Tranquility
The newest venue to be added to the Two Oceans Aquarium’s already impressive repertoire is truly spectacular in scenery and furnishings. With a window that looks into the Kelp Forest Display, it provides a truly magnificent backdrop against which to hold an intimate dinner or cocktail. Delegates attending day conferences are also granted access into the rest of the Aquarium.

From 18h00 to 21h00 for Evening Presentations

Included in Venue Cost
Access to the rest of the Aquarium for delegates before 18h00 (daytime venue hire). Tables, chairs and white table cloths (Tranquility has permanent boardroom table and 20 chairs in the venue). Water, sweets, pen and pad for each delegate (groups 50 and under).

Use of equipment as follows:
Think Tank: Wooden podium, Fixed motorized screen, Microphone, CD / DVD player, NEC data projector. Tranquility: Fixed motorized screen & CD / DVD player (A Projector is available for hire at an additional cost, please enquire)

Weddings at the Two Oceans Aquarium

The Two Oceans Aquarium Wedding Package includes venues for your ceremony, welcome drinks and reception as well as the use of the whole Aquarium for your photos. We recommend that you come in to view all of the venues and discuss the various options available. We are able to advise regarding menu choice and agenda for your function aswell as recommend florists, entertainment, photographers & décor specialists.

Ceremony Venues
Tranquility (Maximum 20 guest): With a window that looks into the Kelp Forest Display, it provides a truly magnificent backdrop against which to hold an intimate ceremony.

The ‘Think Tank’ (Maximum 100 guests): Opening onto the V & A Waterfront Marina, the Think Tank has a magnificent view of Table Mountain.

Wedding Reception Venues
Atlantic Ocean Gallery (Maximum 50 guests): Come face to face with translucent, fragile jellies, alien-like giant spider crabs, and the master of camouflage the shy octopus in the Atlantic Ocean Gallery.

The I&J Predator Exhibit (Maximum 100 guests or 90 guests if a dancefloor required: Enchant your guests in the company of ragged-tooth sharks, graceful rays and shoals of predatory fish. The I&J Predator Exhibit offers a breathtaking setting to make your reception memorable.

Included in Venue Cost
• Use of a ceremony and reception venue (from the selection above)
• Use of the Indian Ocean Gallery (foyer) or Deck (weather permitting) for pre-dinner drinks & canapés
• Use of the entire Aquarium for photographs
• A Functions co-ordinator to oversee the function

Please Note
Venue Times are from 17h00 to midnight: As our reception venues form part of the public Aquarium they are only available for set up at 18h00. This rule applies to all clients and their contractors (décor, AV, entertainment etc). This includes the delivery of items for the function i.e. furniture and décor. Our functions co-ordinators are able to assist with the agenda for your day. An overtime fee applies after midnight (functions will only be permitted to continue until 1am)
