About The Pincushion
Whether you are on vacation or on business, The Pincushion is a welcoming home-from-home establishment, ideal for two people, situated in a quiet secluded garden in the leafy suburb of Newlands, within easy reach of academic institutions, conferencing venues, tourist attractions and sporting amenities.
The Pincushion offers fully equipped self-catering accommodation, ideal for two people sharing. The kitchen consists of a counter top oven which has two plates, a microwave oven and a bar fridge. The non smoking accommodation consists of an extra length double bed, with an en-suite bathroom with shower and is also equipped with DStv, built in safe for small valuables and is serviced on a regular basis. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are provided in the room to welcome guests.
A separate entrance leads guests to their accommodation, which is set in a private garden, with swimming pool, and has a magnificent view of Table Mountain as a backdrop. Here our guests can relax, swim or barbeque. Off street parking is available.
If guests prefer, a Continental breakfast is available on request, for which there is an additional cost.
Attractions and Activities
The Pincushion is not only on the doorstep of both international Rugby and Cricket sports stadiums, but also the University of Cape Town, the Sports Science Institute and the Kingsbury Hospital. It is also close to various leading high schools such as SACS and Westerford. The world renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are a short distance away, while Cavendish Square Shopping Mall, the Vineyard Hotel, the Montebello Craft Centre and many fine eateries, are in close proximity.
In addition, because of its central location, Cape Town's attractions such as the V&A Waterfront and Robben Island, Cape Point and the penguins at the Boulders, Table Mountain, numerous beaches both on the Atlantic and False Bay seaboards, the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town International Airport as well as the Winelands, are easily accessible from Newlands.
For theatre lovers, the Baxter, Artscape and Maynardville theatres, where excellent productions are staged, are all situated close to our doorstep.
