Realou Franschhoek Guest House is a small private 4 star Guest House owned by George and Maria Bester situated in one of Franschhoek’s oldest houses (1868) and located right in the middle of Franschhoek Village. Realou Franschhoek stretches across a block on both van Wijk and Cabriere Street on the bottom, exclusive, vineyard half of Franschhoek Village. Realou Franschhoek is a historical monument painstakingly restored with yellowwood beams, quarry tiles, Oregon Flooring, Corrugated Roofing and Cape Dutch Gable. At the core of its 1860’s charm lies George’s state of the art technical infrastructure including computer and ADSL internet and piped music in each room. Maria has elegantly decorated each room with the finest fabrics and up market finishes. AccommodationAll suites offer a PC with ADSL internet access, fan, access to satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. All decor and furnishings are of the highest quality including white bathrobes, slippers, candles, elegant wine glasses and luxurious towels. Family Suite (sleeps 4): Spacious bedroom with twin 3 quarter beds and chaise lounge. Separate bathroom with a walk in shower. Separate lounge with double sleeper couch. Small kitchenette with a fridge, freezer and microwave. It also has a separate entrance into the garden and easy and safe access to the street and village. The Family Suite has its own table under the reed veranda overlooking the garden. Harley Suite (sleeps 2): This suite has a Queen-size bed with a leather Headboard and animal skins on the floor. Separate bathroom with a Victorian bath and a separate toilet and dressing room. This suite has an interleading door to the Family Suite and a separate entrance into the garden and easy and safe access to the street and village. It has its own table under the reed veranda overlooking the garden. Honeymoon Suite (sleeps 4): This suite has a spacious bedroom, with a luxurious Queen-size sleigh bed. It has a mezzanine level, accessed by wooden Oregon staircase that has a lounge with a double sleeper couch. The separate bathroom, fitted with marble finish, has a washbasin, a walk in shower, toilet and a Jacuzzi Spa Bath and walk in dressing room. It has a kitchenette with fridge and microwave. It also has a separate entrance into the garden and easy and safe access to the street and village. The Honeymoon Suite has its own table under the reed veranda overlooking the garden. Cape Dutch Suite (sleeps 2): This suite has a spacious bedroom with a King-size four poster bed and a separate adjoining study. It is possible to arrange for a roll in bed or cot for children. This suite also has a small fridge and microwave. The separate bathroom has a walk in shower and toilet and a deep free standing bath. It has an internal entrance to the garden and one onto the street. The garden gates allow for easy and secure access to the village. Ursula Family Suite (sleeps 4): This suite has a spacious bedroom with a King-size four poster bed and a large lounge with wrap around entertaining sofa (perfect for kids). It is also possible to arrange for a roll in bed or cot for children. The separate bathroom has a walk in shower and toilet and a deep free standing bath. It has an internal entrance to the garden and one onto the street. The garden gates allow for easy and secure access to the village. Spa Bath Suite (sleeps 2): The Spa Bath Suite is located in the main house and leads out onto the garden and pond. This suite has a spacious bedroom, with a luxurious Queen-size double sleigh bed and chaise lounge sofa. The open plan bathroom with large Jacuzzi Spa Bath is fitted with marble finishes, a shower, washbasin and a separate walk in toilet. The suite also has a kitchenette. It has a separate entrance into the garden which allows easy and safe access to the street and village. Perfect for a romantic getaway and privacy. LocationRealou Franschhoek is a block away from Franschhoek’s best restaurants and within walking distance to at least three of the better Franschhoek wine farms and wine tasting venues. This is just the escape needed to recover from one’s hectic travels in the City of Cape Town.
