Pumula is a working grain and cattle farm 7km outside Fouriesburg in the Eastern Free State highlands. The region boasts fantastic scenery, many various outdoor activities and Anglo/Boer War history. It is situated in the Brandwater Basin south of Bethlehem and on the border with Lesotho.

Lesotho is well known for the Highlands Water Project, and a tour of the Katsi dam wall is a must. Go skiing at Oxbow in winter, or just play around in the snow.

ACCOMMODATION


The Bull’s Nose has four bedrooms plus a fold out couch and caters for between 8 and 10 people. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and are en suite. The third bedroom has 2 single beds and the fourth bedroom has a bunk bed. There is a third bathroom plus a separate guest toilet.

The Bush House has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds. There is a separate bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and basin.

The White House has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds. There is a separate bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.

All the chalets are fully equipped and include bedding and bath towels. They all have open fireplaces and their own braai areas. Fresh milk and eggs are provided once a day. The chalets are serviced once a day. During winter wood and coal are supplied.

ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS


• The Clubhouse incorporates an outdoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam bath, TV lounge and a pub. These facilities are available on request.
• On the farm there are two short walking trails, and mountain bikes can be hired by the energetic.
• Horse riding is provided and must be arranged in advance. Trips range from a relaxed scenic ride to full on cattle herding.
• Short tours of the farm can also be arranged. Saturdays we have a tractor ride around the farm, explaining what we do on the farm.
• Feeding the horses and milking the cow is available to the kids.
