This lodge has all the comforts of home coupled with one of the most tranquil settings, overlooking the picturesque Knysna River. We stay here at least once a year, sometimes just as a couple or with friends, and are never disappointed. The lodge is easy accessible from the main road and is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of what Knysna can be like during the busy season. We always leave a part of our hearts in this beautiful lodge at the end of Knysna, and eagerly plan our return trip!
Phantom view lodges is a great place to go on a family holiday. There is a swimming pool on the property. We had a shaded parking bay right in front of our unit. The lodges are very spacious and being a family of 6 it was a great bonus is that each bedroom had an en-suite bathroom!
We also had beautiful lagoon views from all the bedrooms and living room. The units have DSTV which was great because we had one rainy day.
The kitchen has everything you need, even a coffee plunger! All you need to bring is your clothes, food and some charcoal for the weber braai. From the balcony we saw plenty bird life on the lagoon and nesting in trees around us. We would recommend Phantom View to all!
Very friendly reception - rooms were nice and tidy - enough bathrooms and space for everyone. Lovely view close to the surrounding areas like Buffelsbaai etc. Very well recommended nice weekend getaway. Excellent for cycling which we thoroughly enjoyed will definitely do it again was an awesome experience.
We enjoyed every moment being there
I had my fourth holiday visit to Phantom View last week. The lodges (chalets) offer good basic accommodation, clean and spacious. Each has a nice deck with a weber braai, and is the sort of place one can be comfortable just spending time in and looking at the views of the knysna river and surrounding mountains. For boating enthusiasts, it is near to the old Crabs Creek launching point (free). The location is away from the mad rush during busy times. I think the value is excellent as compared with other places in Knysna. Possibly the main attraction is the relative sense of privacy these lodges afford - they are all well seperated and don't look into each other. Bridwatchers will also enjoy this place -lots to see! Management will tolerate small well behaved and clean pets by prior arrangement only. Booking process and payment facilities are very convenient - I did an EFT, further arrangements by SMS to Bev who handles this all, and the whole experience is simple and easy.
In the most exquisite forested setting overlooking the Knysna River, these wooden self-catering chalets are very well-equipped. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, air conditioning and tea/coffee-making facilities.
All of the bedrooms and living room open onto decks with river views.
We had stayed at the Knysna waterfront for the past twelve years, but Phantom View Lodges will be our future port of call.
Booking was a pleasure, as well as reception at the lodge. We greatly appreciated an after-hours pop-in of Bev (booking agent) to make sure that we were happy with everything.
