Pear Tree and Willow Cottages are situated in beautiful gardens, providing upmarket accommodation for the discerning guest in the quaint 19th century village of McGregor - less than two hours from Cape Town and 15 minutes from Robertson in the Valley of Wine and Roses. Pear Tree and Willow Cottages are within easy walking distance of restaurants and small shops, and cottages comfortably sleep 12.

Self Catering Accommodation

Each cottage has a luxurious queen bed and fully equipped kitchenette with stainless steel two plate hob, microwave oven, small fridge, kettle and toaster as well as a private, vine covered patio with table and seating, a braai and mountain views.

Fully equipped for self catering, we supply lovely percale linen and towels, cosy bathrobes and Charlotte Rhys luxury bathroom soaps and creams, tea and rooibos, Nescafe instant coffee (plus there is a tea pot and a coffee plunger in the cottage), milk and sugar. The cottages are also equipped with a fireplace, wall heaters, and an overhead fan, as well as a bedside clock radio, CD / DVD player (DVDs available on request) and TV (SABC 1, 2,3,TBN and eTV) via satellite, but please ensure that you bring your own Smartcard (DSD1110 decoder or later does not support a Smartcard swap) if you wish to watch DSTV.

PEAR TREE COTTAGE

Certified 19th Century National Monument (sleeps 2)
The historic Pear Tree Cottage (sleeps 2 plus a child under 8 years accommodated free on a sturdy camp bed/cot) is our beautifully restored 19th century National Monument.

Shaded by a large plane tree and bordering apricot orchards, this dinky thatch cottage for two offers a luxurious queen bed in a spacious terracotta tiled sleeping area with overhead fan, open plan to a terracotta tiled living area which is furnished with a rectangular oak dining table, a 3 seater leather couch and two of wicker chairs and has a cheery ceramic Firepot which keeps the cottage as warm as toast in winter.

The charming bathroom has a shower and toilet and a converted “Singer sewing machine” vanity with locally handcrafted ceramic washbasin. The built in braai is positioned in such a way that the heat from the fire keeps the patio warm and this cottage is very popular for year round braais.

WILLOW COTTAGE and THE SUNFLOWER LOFT

A Little Piece of Heaven (sleeps 2 to 4)
The charming Willow Cottage (sleeps 2 - 4 together with The Rose Room bedroom). Situated next door to Pear Tree Cottage on the edge of the village in the older, more rural, historic section which showcases the original McGregor cottages - many of which were built in the mid 1800's - Willow Cottage is a traditional thatch cottage which borders an apricot orchard and is within walking distance of restaurants and small shops.

Willow Cottage sleeps two in luxurious twin three quarter beds in the downstairs Rose Room which has double French doors opening onto the large stoep with views across the pretty garden to the hills. The Sunflower loft is a charming upstairs loft bedroom (no open thatch upstairs) which is accessed by a traditional loft staircase and sleeps two in a luxurious queen bed.

The slate tiled living room with large open fireplace set in a sandstone wall, and beautiful slate tiled bathroom with extra large double shower is shared between the two bedrooms. There is an extra large stoep with built in braai which overlooks the garden to the mountains.

Willow Cottage is only available as a 4 sleeper cottage at peak times unless by special arrangement.
