This was the second time we had visited Nyala. Myself and my family especially love the seating area that overlooks the water hole, a great area to sit and watch the game come and go during the day.
We had some great sightings of buffalo and a male cheetah during our stay. As well as this we had the opportunity to track two rhinos on foot. It was unbelievable (if a little unnerving) how close we got to the rhinos, we got some great photos of us in front of the rhinos! This opportunity would not have been possible without the help of our lovely, knowledgeable guide Gideon - a man with the MOST infectious laugh.
The lodge is self catering but this does not prove a problem as the fire is lit for you whilst on an evening game drive and we had bought all our food in Hoedspruit before entering the reserve.
The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The fence lining the reserve are soon to be taken down and I hope that Nyala will benefit from an increase in game because of this.
