Loccation & Attractions

Lovedale is surrounded by the most spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The 5 km of Bell River that runs through the farm is any fly fisherman’s dream. If the water is low, permits can be bought through the Wild Trout Association to fish other streams and dams in the area. This area is unique in a special way. Each season comes to its fullest right. Summers are warm but not hot, and beautiful with its green fields and willow trees. Autumn is the best. The poplar trees stand out like gold candles amongst all the other colors of red, orange and yellow.

Winter is cold. It snows every winter. The mountain peaks are mostly white during June and July into August. Down the valley we often wake up to white mornings, while during the night the snow quietly falls and covers the countryside in a white sheet. Temperatures drop to about minus 17 degrees. So bring along the beanies and scarves. Spring is a relief. The bare trees show signs of new life. The mountains turn from a dull brown to lime green within a few weeks. Each season has its own beauty and offers its own entertainment.
