We have a large, salt water swimming pool ideal if you want to cool off on a hot day and a lapa (covered shelter) with a lovely view of the Langeberg Mountains.

Parking
There is ample off-street parking - sufficient for all our guests - protected by a security gate which is closed after nightfall. We give you a remote control to operate the gate so you can come and go as you please.

The cottages are flanked by attractive landscaped gardens, with lawns and borders of indigenous plants and secluded seating areas.

Location & Attractions

Situated mid way between Cape Town and George, Swellendam is an excellent overnight stop for travellers following the Garden Route and a great destination in its own right. The town has good restaurants, historic buildings, art galleries and potteries, attractive tree-lined streets, golf course and a beautiful environment (game reserve, nature reserve, river, forest, fruit farms).

We would be delighted to suggest some things to see and do in and around town or help you to choose a restaurant - we know most of the local attractions and the best eating places.

Activities

Walking, horse riding, golf, fishing, canoeing, cycling and bird watching

Explore the Overberg region

Swellendam is an excellent base for exploring the Overberg region and Breede River Valley. We would be glad to suggest day trips to help you get the most from your stay. Guests who have followed our suggestions - or blazed their own trail - have found the experience very rewarding.
