"A Tranquil Oasis in the Karoo Heartland"Set in the heart of the Little Karoo, you will find Koffylaagte Game Lodge, a private game reserve located 130km south-west of Port Elizabeth. Traveling on the R75 from the coastal city of Port Elizabeth towards the historical settlers town of Graaff-Reinet, Koffylaagte is situated mid-way between these two locations and is roughly a 90 minutes drive from the Port Elizabeth airport. ACCOMMODATIONIn keeping with the minimalistic, modern Africa theme of their boutique hotel in Port Elizabeth, the owners have decorated the lodges again in a simple yet tasteful style reflecting the rich heritage of the Karoo region and African continent. Accommodation capacity has been restricted to ensure the necessary escape from the daily hustle and bustle for our guests and to provide a background of immense comfort, personal touch and attention to detail. The 11 bedroomed accommodation capacity is therefore spread between two two-bedroomed self-catering units, a hunting lodge consisting of 3 luxury rooms, 2 other bedrooms that share a bathroom and bush camp with 2 permanent luxury tents, which will provide the most discerning guest with a variety of accommodation choices as well as space and privacy at all times. The Farmhouse The original farmhouse has been converted into two 2-bedroomed self-catering units. Each unit comprises a master bedroom with a king size bed and a second bedroom with two single beds. There is also a comfortable living room with sofas and a six-seater dining table. The kitchens are equipped with a refrigerator, microwave oven and stove and also provide cooking utensils, cutlery and china. These units are perfect for families or couples wishing to have some privacy. The Lodge The Lodge consists of three luxury, en-suite bedrooms and two other rooms with a shared bathroom. The hunting lodge has a fully kitted kitchen, bar, indoor braai (barbeque) and a ten-seater dining table, as well as a games room with a pool table and cable TV. The lodge has retained its original character with the various trophies that are on display. The lodge can be hired for full board guest use of self-catering for a large group. The Tented Camp There are two double luxury permanent tents all designed with en-suite bathrooms. There is also a lapa with camp fire, a communal undercover dining area and bush kitchen. Hot water, gas refrigerator, heating units in the tents and an electric generator are available at the tented camp. The camp is situated a few kilometers away from the main lodge, offering our guests the peace and harmony of the African bush. It is a great experience for a father-and-son weekend or family getaway. DININGKoffylaagte Game Lodge prides itself on providing guests with true Karoo farmstyle catering. We can provide guests with catering from tasty homemade muffins at tea time to a mouthwatering Venison roast for dinner. ADDITIONAL FACILITIESThere are 2 separate outdoor braai (barbeque) facilities; one is situated in the thatched lapa that offers camp fire seating for 24 guests for larger gatherings, parties or “Bosberaad” meetings. The large rock pool overlooks a splendour of rolling hills and a waterhole with surrounding Lucerne plantation which is frequented by various antelope.
