This is a beautiful property, isolated and tranquil. The view is amazing and and the river pool is great. Our stay was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet away from the city.
The house does need quite a bit of maintenance though. The gas fridge did not work. The solar battery water was empty, so there was no power for the little light we needed, which would have been fine if there were candles, but there weren't. The first day we had no water and then once the pipe had been fixed it was boiling hot from the cold tap -the pipe seems to run on top of the ground which is not great when in 30-40 degrees and where there are creatures around to chew through it. There are also masses of bats in the roof, which does not bother us, except for the smell and the loads of poo falling through the ceiling slats. Both sliding doors were broken and a big struggle to open and close.
Despite all this we had a very relaxing stay. Enjoying the view from the deck and visiting swallows, swifts, snakes and gennets. But do recommend that the faint of heart do not stay here. Also the price is a little too high for the amount of work needed on the house.
What an amazing experience. Absolute peace and tranquility. Amazing escape from hustle and bustle to pure natural peace and quiet. Very friendly and helpful service. Thank you Christoff for allowing us into your piece heaven.
If you want total privacy and tranquility there is no better. An awesome place to get away from the rat race. It has everything one needs except for technology and people. Loved it and would return any day.
Tranquility itself! Total privacy with nothing to do but gaze at the magnificent view and relax in front of a blazing fire. We enjoyed a short walk down to the river and counting the sheep, birds and dassies in and around the kloof. The accommodation is comfortable and well-equipped, and our hosts were generous and accommodating. The gas stove and fridge and the lack of a microwave were a change from what we were used to, but suited the experience and relaxed atmosphere. Can't wait to visit again!
Diepkloof is actually the best property we have stayed in to date! The property is fantastic from a relaxation point of view, with total privacy and the jet master and “honeymoon” bath made our stay that much more pleasant. We can with great confidence recommend this property for those who are seeking a great week-end away from the city life!
