Enjoy heavenly scenery all around you, from the peace and privacy of your own "home from home" cottage or suite, in the stunning Champagne Valley. Look up at the imposing Drakensberg Mountains of Champagne and Cathkin, with nearby access to the peaks of Cathedral Peak, the majestic Amphitheatre at Royal Natal National Park and Giants Castle. All these areas are waiting for you to explore and each area differs totally. Once home in the afternoons, enjoy the rock pool and the beauty of South African sunsets, from your own verandah. Being just 4 km off the road that leads into the mountains we have the best of both worlds, total peace and quiet and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but you are near the local restaurants and hotels for meals and entertainment. Beware of cutting your time here, as there is so much to do and see, it is not unknown for a guest to arrive for 3 days and stay for 12! They leave as friends. Bed & Breakfast Accommodation (4 Star Graded)B&B Suites: These two suites lead directly off the front verandah of the main house and overlook the rock pool and the mountains. Each room has either a queen size or two single beds, TV (bring own smart card for DSTV), bar fridge with tea / coffee tray, and a full bathroom with separate shower. Breakfast is served usually on the lawn under an acacia tree for shade (weather permitting). BreakfastDelicious and plentiful breakfasts are served, when possible on the lawn in the shade of an acacia tree. Any type of breakfast is offered and if you find the views relaxing, request another cup of coffee and take your time! Chat to your hostess about the local activities and restaurants, etc and even for recommendations for your next stop. We are licensed to sell liquor for our convenience. Self Catering Accommodation (3 Star Graded)Gallery Suite: This is either a self catering or bed and breakfast suite, suitable for 2 people. You have plenty of space to entertain on your verandah, to have a barbecue or dinner. Every window has a view, and the view from the verandah, particularly of the sunset, is stunning. It is en-suite and has either a king size or 2 single beds, a third bed can be added for a child. There is DSTV, a CD player, fireplace for winter months and ceiling fans for summer. Double doors open onto the verandah so it is light, airy and sunny. As it is an upstairs unit it is only suitable for those who do not have problems with stairs. Rose Cottage: A romantic little hideaway, this cottage is surrounded by roses most months of the year. With Oregon pine sash windows, double doors with stained glass windows and a welsh dresser, it is really cute. Suitable for a couple, with 1 separate bedroom, full bathroom with a corner bath, it is the perfect place for a honeymoon. It is fully equipped for self catering with a full stove and microwave, a fireplace in the lounge, DSTV and a CD player. The verandah has wide views of the Drakensberg and is perfect for sundowners. There is a BBQ on the lawn. Garden Suite: For a couple or even if you are travelling alone, this is a pretty, smaller suite. It has a queen size bed, TV with decoder (bring own smart card), CD player, and its own little garden area. The full bathroom is en-suite and there is a little kitchenette and a BBQ in the garden, so some catering can be done, but more often guests choose to have breakfast. Pin Oak & English Oak Cottages: These two self catering cottages are situated next to each other in an enclosed garden. Each has 2 bedrooms both en-suite. These are the cottages we suggest to guests with families, as each sleeps 4 comfortably with a sleeper couch or spare single bed for an extra person. The bedrooms have heaters and the lounge has a fireplace and TV. The kitchen is full equipped with a stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc. The two cottages share the BBQ located between them. We also allow much loved pets in these cottages (by arrangement only). ActivitiesPay a visit to the Drakensberg Boys School Choir (you will return amazed by the sounds of Africa coming from such beautiful, young voices). Play golf and other sports, at the famous Champagne Sports Resort, or play the 9 hole courses of Cathedral Peak and Monks Cowl. Falcon Ridge fly their birds most mornings and is fast becoming world famous for their show and the knowledge they impart. For the adventurous, there is white water rafting in season, quad biking and other activities, including horse trails for both the experienced rider and the novice. The main attraction however, has to be the Mountain, for either a leisurely walk or a vigorous hike, and there are so many to choose from, you could be here for weeks and still need to return for more. If country life is for you, then you have found your venue! I look forward to making your visit to the Drakensberg Mountains a wonderful experience. ACCREDITATIONS
