Kloofing, also known as Canyoneering is exhilarating! First, a sunny hike up the river valley, then wading through crystal clear pools, clambering over massive boulders and winding up the watercourse as the magnificent cliffs close in around you. The pace is hectic and when you stop for a well-deserved lunch you'll be keen to rest under the shade of the trees in the cool gorge.
Then, descending, the adrenalin pumps as you enjoy the vertical adventures of, abseiling through waterfalls, slithering over boulders, plunging into pools and the thrill of sliding down smooth stone alongside the stream in this beautiful gorge. Descent may be faster, but it will leave you breathless! The natural gorge changes with the seasons and weather, so although the above description is the plan, do be prepared for changes!
This is a full day of adventure and it is advisable to be fit and confident with heights and have a great spirit for adventure! You need to be able to swim as you will have to swim to exit the gorge towards the end of the adventure.
We meet at 09h00 in Magaliesburg. You will then follow us through to the gorge and we normally finish around 16h30 at the gorge. We take a minimum booking of 2 people, unless there is a scheduled adventure to join.
The cost includes:
GoVertical Mountaineering guides
All adventure gear

A hiker’s lunch in the gorge
