In the heart of Melville, Johannesburg, is an all-day breakfast, brunch and juice spot with a difference. Pablo Eggs Go Bar is a vibey, laid-back venue for the whole family, with plenty of stunning dishes and innovative juices to tempt and tantalise the taste buds.
Breakfast is served all day long, every day of the week. They are scrumptious, and reflect a distinct Middle Eastern flavour that is delicious and just a little different. By day, nutritious, tasty juices are served with the breakfasts, along with top-notch coffee made by experienced baristas. At night, the juices are replaced by a selection of indulgent cocktails and even some electrolyte concoctions for those needing to recover from a big night.
This breakfast-cum-cocktail bar is a trendy spot that is managed by Carolina Rasenti and Louis Roux. Louis is a barista and mixologist with a background in Israeli food. This is evident in many of the dishes, which have a distinct ethnic flavour and influence. Carolina is the name behind the renowned Great Eastern Food Bar. These two create a formidable foodie team.
Every dish has eggs as part of the list of ingredients, but no two taste the same. This superfood is used in interesting, novel ways to create taste sensations that will leave you hankering for more. Every dish is paired with a fruit- or plant-based juice or a health bowl, as well as a superb cup of coffee. Some of the favourite menu items include the red shakshuka (a combination of eggs, tomatoes, bell peppers and spices), chicken thyme meatballs with a parmesan cream sauce, a lamb and mint burger with triple-fried chips, panko-crusted soft eggs with asparagus spears, or the malawa, which is a savoury pancake from Yemen. Even the coffees are a step above, taking the average cup of Joe to the next level. Try the dirty espresso with spiced hot milk and layers of espresso shots.
Pablo Eggs Go Bar has a take-away menu for those on the run.
