Lemon Rose Farm in Randburg

Just 20 minutes drive from Sandton along CR Swart Drive in the suburb of Sundowner (what used to be 'in the sticks', or as far into the sticks as you can get whilst still in Johannesburg) is Lemon Rose Farm. The combination of farm yard, restaurant, venue hire, playground for children and day spa make it a rather sought after spot for tea, for those who know about it.

For tea expect brightly coloured, polka dot table cloths, double-decker chocolate cakes, mega mugs of latté and the shade of a myriad shrubs and trees. There are wonderful breakfasts, light meals that include a series of sandwiches, pancakes, scones and a list of hot and cold drinks. Children get to play not only in a play area complete with jungle gyms under the shade of trees, but can also run around the farmyard after a collection of cats, dogs, geese and sheep.

The gardens throughout Lemon Rose Farm are beautiful. The works of local artists grace most of the walls of the restaurant, and you can pick up a piece for your own home whilst there.
