Artists Under the Sun was founded in 1960 by a group of artists who had a vision of bringing 'fine art to the people' by holding regular open-air exhibitions. From humble beginnings, Artists Under the Sun has grown into the largest out-door fine art exhibition in Southern Africa!
You will be amazed at the selection of fine art on view. There are all subjects and genres, mediums and styles. There is such a lot to choose from and such a lot to see; speak to the artists themselves and explore with them how they constructed your favourite piece of work.
Artists Under the Sun is set in the beautiful park known as Zoo Lake; a truly lovely green lung in the suburbs of Johannesburg. Soak up the ambiance and wander around the paintings on green lawns. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawns or buy an ice cream from an ice cream vendor.
When?
We are there on the first weekend of every month excluding September. Spot our bright yellow caravan in the area bounded by Jan Smuts Avenue and Westwold Way, Saxonwold.
