DESCRIPTION:

Annie's Cottage offers Colonial comfort in a beautiful old manor house under 40 year old Jacaranda trees. We offer excellent luxury B&B accommodation and warm Namaqualand hospitality. Semi-finalist in the AA Accommodation Awards. Annie’s Cottage is a beautiful old manor house in Springbok, Namaqualand, at the foot of a rugged “koppie” where the first commercial mine in South Africa was started in 1852. Ideal as a stop-over between Cape Town and Windhoek or Upington, we cater for the discerning tourist and business traveller. Our bed & breakfast guesthouse is a 4 star, accredited pension and a 3-time semi-finalist in the AA Accommodation Awards. We offer excellent luxury accommodation and hospitality, something the Afrikaner people are well known for. When the old house was restored to its former colonial glory, ambiance and atmosphere was never forgotten and when modern comfort was added to its portfolio of assets the old world charm prevailed. Rest with us and enjoy our beautiful cool garden and swimming pool. Classic little shops and restaurants are only 500 m walking distance to the old town and tourist information office and a lively central open market where a happy atmosphere invite all to stay a while.

AREA ATTRACTIONS

Namaqualand is a vast and beautiful semi-desert region, dotted with giant granite boulder stacks. Between these “koppies” the outstretched savannah is the home of God-fearing sheep and goat-farmers. Springtime in Namaqualand is from August to October. Then the arid plains become "God’s own Garden", when the wild spring flowers burst into a kaleidoscope of colour. Springbok offers many attractions incl geological and historical sites, museums and fine restaurants. We are situated near to the famous Namaqualand wildflower reserves and to the Richtersveld National Park. Springbok is a peaceful and crime-free town with a lot of nostalgia. It is the gateway to Namibia, as we are only 120 kms from the border at the Orange River.
